We’re thrilled to share that John Lewis & Partners Cribbs Causeway has generously donated £1,000 to South Gloucestershire Council’s Fostering Service through their Community Matters scheme, providing a boost for fostering in South Glos.
Each quarter, John Lewis & Partners invites customers to vote for local charities and community groups to receive a share of a £3,000 donation. Thanks to the incredible support from our local community, voters chose Foster South Glos as one of this quarter’s beneficiaries.
We’ll use this donation to buy arts and crafts materials for the children and young people in the care of Foster South Glos. These creative resources will help us enhance our fostering events—boosting confidence, encouraging self-expression, and creating joyful, lasting memories.
Arts and crafts offer more than just fun activities—they provide a powerful outlet for children to express their thoughts, emotions, and individuality in a safe and supportive environment. For many, this creative process is not only enjoyable but also deeply therapeutic. It can help reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and foster a sense of accomplishment and pride.
Aimee Williams, Service Manager for Fostering and WAYPOINT, shared:
“We are incredibly grateful to John Lewis & Partners Cribbs Causeway. This donation will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in our care, providing them with opportunities to explore their creativity and connect with others in a safe and supportive environment.”
Carol Small, Community Liaison Coordinator at John Lewis & Partners, added:
“We’re proud to support South Gloucestershire’s Fostering Service through our Community Matters scheme. At John Lewis, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and we’re delighted that this donation will help provide creative opportunities for children and young people in care.”
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing foster carers. Your dedication and compassion continue to transform lives across South Gloucestershire. With your support—and contributions like this—we’re building brighter futures for children and young people in care.
