Why change fostering service?

When considering transferring to a new fostering service, it is important to reflect on your own needs and priorities. Remember, seeking more support, feeling valued, and having convenient access to training and support groups are all valid reasons for wanting to make a change. By prioritising your well-being and the quality of care you can provide, you are taking proactive steps to ensure a positive fostering experience for both you and the children or young people in your care.

How long is the transfer process?

As you are already an approved foster carer, we will be able to fast-track your application.
The transfer process may be slightly different depending on which fostering service you are transferring from or if you are transferring with a child or young person.

Once we have more information on your situation, we will be able to give you more accurate timescales, but rest assured it will be much faster than your first initial assessment.

Can I transfer with a child?

Yes. If you already have a foster child or young person in your care you can still apply to transfer. We follow The Fostering Network’s Transfer Protocol.  This protocol guides the way fostering services should manage the movement of foster carers between services and help ensure children and young people are safe and their foster placement stable.  Our experienced team will guide and support you through the process.
