We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the pupils, staff, and families at Beacon Rise Primary School for their generous and thoughtful donation to our fostering service.
A school community that cares
Recently, Beacon Rise held a charity event where children brought in toys, games, and craft materials. These wonderful items have now been donated to support children and young people in foster care across South Gloucestershire.
Inspired by compassion and community
Holly Ross, Geography Leader at Beacon Rise, shared the school’s motivation:
“Beacon Rise was inspired to donate to children and young people in care after learning about the challenges they often face without the consistent support many take for granted.
Guided by our values of compassion, inclusion, and social responsibility, we wanted to make a meaningful difference and foster a community that looks out for each other.
By coming together as a school, we aimed to show these young people that they are seen, valued, and supported – today and in the future. From everyone at Beacon Rise, we hope our donations bring joy and make a difference.”
How the donations will help
The donated items will be used in several meaningful ways:
- Care packs: some toys will be included in welcome packs for children entering foster care, helping them feel safe and comforted.
- Summer festival prizes: others will be used as prizes at our upcoming summer festival a fun filled day for foster families.
- Creative activity days: craft materials will support our half-term activity sessions, giving foster families a chance to bond through creativity.
